Dale Webb founded Vocalium in 2011 to explore links between contemporary and Tudor choral works. He had developed a passion for Tudor sacred music whilst studying at the University of Aberystwyth under David Wulstan, whose scholarship and choir (The Clerkes of Oxenford) were key to the resurgence of interest in Tudor music.
Dale sang as an undergraduate with the Elizabethan Madrigal Singers (MADS), becoming chair of the MADS alumni and in 2010 publishing a book chronicling the choir’s 60 year history.
Vocalium was established in November 2011 and gave its first performance in Wherwell, Hampshire in May 2012. Since then the choir has given concerts in a range of venues from Cardiff to Crawcrook and Atherstone to Aberystwyth, including fundraising concerts for local charities and organisations.
The choir has engagements in London and further afield during 2018, and continues to build a strong reputation for high quality chamber singing.
